Fred Kofman
Executive Coach | President at Conscious Business Center International - CBC
Who put all that "stuff" on your plate?
From a victim's perspective, whoever asked you to do it.
From a player's perspective, whoever accepted to do it; that is, you!
In this video, you will see how Vanessa moves from feeling overwhelmed and stressed to empowered and determined. This is the state of mind from which she can take concrete actions to solve her problem.

5 年What a great coaching session! Framing the ask in terms of helping the boss, while still being respectfully firm about needing a firm commitment to meet, was elegant. I aspire to exercise such coaching mastery.

6 年Thanks' god now I play the victim role with few times on consciously I decide to paly it (it′s fair right?) biggest lesson here for me on this coaching dialogue and knowledge reaffirmation was: the importance of SERVICE the importance of putting the other person first (What′s in it for me?), that will open the channels and should ease the approach and discussion by itself. The other two key points are the importance of somehow been vulnerable and assertive. Last question made by Fred very powerful what did you learn? pretty common to close with that question.....................

6 年Wow, in this role play what struck me was that Fred stuck to integrity. That in each case he did not get the response he would hope for, he would continue to negotiate based on the honesty of his situation and would not give ground if that meant violating boundaries. The response-ability aspect of the conversation was alive and kicking.?

6 年I enjoy watching Fred's coaching sessions, and I've been trying to put into words what he's doing that's so effective. What is "conscious coaching?" At about 5:30 into the video, Fred makes this statement: "I remind people, hey you've gotta be conscious. It's self coaching. I just sit here and people coach themselves."? Reading those words in print, I realize they may come off as flippant. In fact, this is quite a powerful technique. Fred's subject already has the answer. Rather than explaining things, or leading the subject towards Fred's conclusion, he guides the subject toward their own, inner knowing. At the end of the video, the subject affirms this. And that is powerful.

6 年A mentor taught me years ago “don’t let your mouth burden your back.” That meant learn how to say no and when no was not an option, how to get the leader to prioritize what I should be focused on. ?This helped me learn how to proactively advocate for myself in small things so that I would have the capacity to self-advocate on much larger and more strategically significant things in the future. ?It is a great tool that helps maintain integrity when things are out of control.
