How to Change Careers When You Think You're Too Late

• "I know nothing": stop downgrading your abilities, you have experience, so you may as well use it! A lot of your old career knowledge and insight can be applied to your new job
• "I know that already": the "curse of knowledge", will keep you from learning new things! Be open to learning and being proven wrong even if you think you know it better

2?? Find Your Unique Advantage

With years of experience under your belt, you have a lot of unique (or unfair) advantages that help you stand out in front of competitors, for instance:

• Self-awareness - you know yourself, what you like, dislike, and what you’re good at. Use it to make intentional decisions on where to spend your time & energy on.
• Years of experience - Use your work experience and current job income to invest in your career change.
• Financial stability - instead of hating your current job, see it as a blessing. Unlike people in their 20s, you don’t have to live on packaged noodles to make it. Take your savings and financial stability to invest in your new career or business venture!

3?? Build Your Personal Brand

Use your existing reputation to help with your career change.

Document and share your daily experiences as you navigate your new career through a

• ??? blog, or
• ?? weekly updates here on LinkedIn.

Create content to connect with others, show how your past experience helps you, and share your growth process.

4?? Collaborate

• Interview industry experts to build connections and have a voice in your field

• Join online communities related to your new field, or business offer to grow your network.
