Tonight is Rosh Hashana
We can all agree that the world has become hostile, divided and unstable.
From the COVID pandemic, to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, to Hamas’ October 7 terrorist attack on innocent people in Israel, to Hurricane Helene, we have just been swinging from tragedy to tragedy, without a break.?
Well, tonight is Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year.?
I will be taking a break.??
I will be in synagogue Thursday and Friday praying.?
I will be praying for every one of us, for peace, and for harmony.??
There has been way too much loss of life, broken families, divided communities and widespread hatred.?
For me, Rosh Hashana is a time for reflection, a time for change, a time for gratitude, and a time for renewal.?
I wish my family, friends and colleagues, a fresh, sweet and prosperous new year.?
I pray that we come together, respect each others’ differences and model our best behaviour towards each other.?
