Tongue

Talk with your mind before you talk with your tongue. With no bones, the tongue is strong enough to break the strongest heart. That small soft flesh breaks the strongest bonds. Destroys the largest corporations. Sets nations on fire. Nobody cares for your beauty if your tongue is ugly. Never trust your tongue when your heart is bitter. A tongue is like a restless wild beast trying to break loose out of its cage.
James 3:8 - But no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
A fool cannot hold his tongue. With his tongue, he destroys his career, family and business. With her tongue, she destroys her children and marriage. A loose tongue is worse than wicked hands. As a rudder steers a ship, the tongue steers your life. Tame your words, tame your life. A human slips more by his tongue than by his foot. Before you speak, ask yourself three questions: Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
Clean up your working vocabulary. Eliminate rude, vulgar and cursing words from your tongue. God will judge every careless, hurting and cursing word you speak. In Matthew 12:36-37, Jesus said, “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Never speak for the sake of it. Words are never neutral. Words have the power to create or kill. The power to build or destroy. The power to bless or curse. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits (Proverbs 18:21). The words you speak to your children can inspire hope or kill confidence. I’ve written more on this subject in my book: The Power of the Spoken Word.
In the words of Hellen Keller, ‘Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will break my heart.’ I dare you today, change your words, change your world. Let your word be your bond. Be a promise keeper. Be quick in blessing, slow in complaining. You can never recall your spoken words. If what you’re about to say will not bless others, don’t say it. Cursing words are never forgotten. There’s an Arabian proverb that says, ‘Four things never come back: past life; neglected opportunity; speeding arrow; and the spoken words.
James 1:26 - If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless.
