5 年I attended the IBA seminar on Bullying and Sexual Harassment in the Legal Profession in NYC last night and one of the experts did assert that the way to avert this kind of behavior is to set the tone at the top (or from the top as you highlighted)...but it goes deeper than that, frankly.? It's rigorously enforcing the "no asshole" rule and ensuring that no one, from the cleaner to the C-Suite, is getting harassed or abused - or, in the context of your article, that everyone knows what the ground rules are and what the consequences will be if they don't follow suit.? In my humble opinion, too many companies are worried that if they discover rotten apples in their midst, it will reflect badly upon the brand and the company and the management/CEO...but surely it's braver to take swift and powerful action to sanction those who go against the rules and break the law (crony or not)?
Well written...a great reminder!
