Tom's "Wild Idea" - Taking the Time Out to Give Back
A few weeks ago, my good friend Thomas G. Bice, PE approached me with what he called “wild idea”. To which my response was, “I love wild ideas”. Tom has been planning a 2 day ride on the GAP Trail, Day 1 – 150 miles from Pittsburgh, PA to Cumberland, MD, then on Day 2 – 150 miles back from Cumberland, MD to Pittsburgh, PA.
Coupling this with my employer VMware’s Time Out Philanthropy Program, Tom and I are raising awareness and funds for Friendship Circle Pittsburgh – Through Tom’s Friendship Circle Pittsburgh Fundraising Group. Tom and both ride in the Eat’n Park / n+1 Cycling Team and want to give back to the Pittsburgh community through our cycling efforts and figured that this "wild idea" is a great opportunity to do so.
On the morning of Tuesday, October 11th we will be departing Pittsburgh for Cumberland. Follow our trip on Twitter/Strava as the trail is beautiful this time of the year. We will try to document our “wild idea” as much as we can. But more importantly please consider to donating to Friendship Circle Pittsburgh via Tom’s Group and help Pittsburgh become more inclusive.
DONATE HERE - Thank You!
Get out and ride, and see you on the Trail!
