January blues? It's the perfect time to boost employee morale ??
January is the most depressing month of the year, making it the ideal time to focus on uplifting your team.
This week, we’re highlighting the role of female managers in driving morale. Well explore how you not only hire more women into senior positions, but actually keep them there.
Find out how you can stay ahead by implementing the right to switch off in your workplace, which a recent survey shows 97% of employees to support. With Labours right-to-disconnect legislation still in the pipeline, you can get ahead of the curve. Say goodbye to ping fatigue! ??
Lets get into it! ??
Women make better managers, so how can you attract & retain women in senior positions?
This study shows women make better managers by:
So, why the shortage of female managers? How can you change it?
Join ivee in solving the return-to-work problem! ??
1.5 million women are currently on a career break in the UK, having left their role at the mid-management level.
While 74% of these women intend on returning to the same employer after their break, only 24% will go on to do so.
And worse? 65% of these women will return to roles that are below their skill level, creating yet another barrier to reaching that management level.

The avalanche of January job applications...
?How you can make sure you're not missing out on the best candidates
On ivee, the first week of January has seen almost double the number of job applications as the previous week.?
The New Year brings new motivation to jobseekers, and with half of them using AI for applications, there's going to be a larger surge than normal this January.
But it's not just the jobseeker's side of the market that's growing. With 70% of companies expecting a higher turnover in early 2025 (The Times), we can be sure to see a major increase in activity from both sides.?
And more applications = more work for your ATS.
?Make sure your filters are set correctly so you're not screening out the golden candidates. Don't miss out on experienced applicants by screening out career breaks!?
Our 2025 predictions - recruitment needs a shake-up! ?
A new year means new changes, and we think that the recruitment world is due a shake-up! Here are our takes on the big changes we think we'll be seeing (and hope to see) in the world of recruitment:
1.Skills over degrees.
Forget qualifications. We want skills and lived experiences to take the stage. Soft-skills all around!

2. Flexibility becomes the norm.
Work-life balance turns from a disputed luxury, to an expectation. The more flexibility, the better.
3. Gender equity in hiring.
New ESG targets mean that diverse teams are getting the spotlight, and this will lead to an increase in female hires.
4. The rise of employee-generated content.
2025 is all about authenticity. Day-in-the-life videos, workplace wins, and plenty of office TikToks are going to be taking centre stage.?
Stay ahead of the curve and implement the right to disconnect in 2025
?Labour's legislation is taking it's time, so here's how you can beat them to it and help implement the right to switch off in your office.?
Employees have made their opinion?very clear?on LinkedIn, with 97% of people voting that employees should have the right to switch off, despite YouGov reporting that 60% of UK employees still check their emails on holiday ???
It's true. Employees have 'ping fatigue', which HR Magazine is calling for people to recognise as a real problem.?
And every one of these 'pings' leads to a distraction that takes an average of 23 minutes to refocus from.?
At ivee, one of the ways we combat ping fatigue is through our 'BLITZ MODE' - designated chunks of the working day dedicated to focused, uninterrupted work ????
Without legislation, how can you implement the right to switch off?in your workplace?
?? Use tech to create boundaries, such as email servers that delay non-urgent mail sent out of hours.
?? Teach managers to respect boundaries by honouring time off and contracted hours.?
?? Use tools that signal availability, such as 'do not disturb' statuses.
??Automate out of hours email replies to communicate any unavailability.?
