Tomorrow Starts Today?

How routine, discipline and passion can shape your future.

It’s all too easy to hate on posts that preach about the 5am Club, as well as all the gym selfies that takeover your social media feeds every morning. I get it. Nobody wants to feel cajoled into doing something their heart’s not completely into; particularly by a stranger on the internet who claims to know what it takes to be “successful”.

But here’s the thing: It’s a proven fact that habits, rituals and routines are a necessary part of a happier, more balanced and more rewarding life. Granted, different routines work for different people - but having one is what differentiates those who are insanely successful, from those who are simply ‘getting by’.?

Smart Routines Build Smart Habits?

A smart routine practised over and over again, becomes a smart habit.

A smart habit is something you inadvertently do, without needing to be reminded; and will come as naturally to you as brushing your teeth in the morning.

Of course, this is only a positive thing when ‘said routine’ is actually good for you.?

There are a number of ways to figure out which rituals work for you, your energy levels and your personality type best. You could even take it up a notch and call upon the mountains of scientific research that support certain practices.

For example, a report in the Wall Street Journal (backed by scientific research) claims that 4am may well be the most productive time of day. With this in mind, it’s no wonder that the likes of Muhammad Ali, Conor Mcgregor and even Apple CEO Tim Cook are all early risers, with specific morning routines.?

Even renowned psychiatrist Carl Jung formed an immovable habit of taking evenings off (after grafting hard all day), while famously saying “I’ve realised that somebody who’s tired and needs a rest, and goes on working all the same, is a fool”.?

As such, this cements the fact that the number of highly successful people (of past and present)? who follow daily rituals as if it were a religion - is no coincidence.?

They do it, because it works.

But the question is, how does one create smart routines - and stick to them?

In my opinion, there’s two key ingredients involved here. And I lean on them both (consistently) in the pursuit of running my global property empire, Luke Capital Group .?

#1 : DISCIPLINE?

It’s the little things we do everyday that eventually spark fundamental, often extraordinary, change.?

But doing the ‘little things’ every day requires discipline. And discipline is something that not everybody has mastered - which is a big part of the reason why so many people find themselves not achieving their goals.

What’s important is to look at the wider picture. I understand from personal experience how tough it can be to stay committed to something, when the results aren’t immediately visible. It requires a hell of a lot of patience to continue grafting, without feeling like you’re getting ‘rewarded’. We’re human beings after all, we all crave that hit of dopamine.

I struggled with exactly this for five years. The moment I’d fail to see ‘instant results’ from my endeavours, I’d recklessly move onto the next “Get Rich Quick Scheme” and walk away from that as well, after the first ten minutes.?

Back then, I didn’t have anybody to help me realise that you’re not going to get ripped after going to the gym once. Just like you won’t go into work today and have your business make x100 more than it was yesterday.?

Change happens over a period of time; and actually - it’s the choices we make today that shape our tomorrow. So, however boring the idea of staying disciplined may seem - let me tell you something that I wish somebody had told me in the early stages of business…it’s worth it.

Regardless of what your family, friends and colleagues are doing around you (or how much ‘fun’ they appear to be having): it’s worth it.?

#2 : LOVE THE PROCESS

Committing to a routine is hard work, there’s no denying that.

However, it shouldn’t be something that you loathe either. If you hate doing something every day, then chances are that you’ll fail to stick at it; or at the very least, cause yourself unneeded emotional and mental stress.

Building Luke Capital Group from the ground-up has taken a lot of blood, sweat and tears. But I’ve also loved the journey - otherwise I wouldn’t be where I am right now. So many people are under the misconception that hard graft can’t be enjoyable - but just because you’re dedicating yourself to something, with sheer discipline, doesn’t mean that you’re not allowed to like it.?

Why on earth would you choose to do something every day, if you hate the very process of it??

If one of my franchisees approached me with this attitude, I’d advise them that they’re no better off trying to build a property empire with me, than they are with staying in their 9-5 job.?

There’s no expectation for you to be blindly joyful every second of every day - because that’s unrealistic. However, if you’re working towards a long-term goal that you’ve put a specific plan and processes in place for, you’ll need to fall in love with the journey itself; only then will you be destined for great things.?

In most cases, life (and business) is a simple game made unnecessarily complicated. Believe it or not, I didn’t have to crack a ‘secret code’ in order to scale my property business to phenomenal heights - I simply put some simple practices in place, and dedicated myself to them, without any excuse.

Routine. Discipline. Passion.

If you have the above three nailed (as well as a clear idea of where you’re headed), then the sky’s your limit; and I type this with conviction and sincerity.

Lucky for you, there’s a heap of support, resources and teachings within your reach, if success from a scalable property business, under the Luke Stays Franchise is what you’re looking for.?

So, do reach out to me to find out if my team and I can help keep you accountable along your journey to success - and activate the right processes in your life and your business.?

In the meantime, keep building and bettering -

Ryan.
