Tom Robbins 1932-2025

Tom Robbins passed away a few days ago. Born in the south, he called the Pacific Northwest home for about the last 60 years. His iconoclastic thoughts were captured in his books and other writings. He wanted Washington to change the state song to "Louie, Louie." He offered former Sonics coach Lenny Wilkins advice on NBA draft day. He also had thoughts about science, my favorite of which is as follows:

“Water- the ace of elements. Water dives from the clouds without parachute, wings or safety net. Water runs over the steepest precipice and blinks not a lash. Water is buried and rises again; water walks on fire and fire gets the blisters.”
