TOGETHER, WE BUILD.
TOGETHER, WE BUILD
Okay, I might have cringed after sending the title of this newsletter to our designer, so that he? could create the banner for me. It’s laced in the same kind of motivational spiel you’d expect to see from a phoney (possibly overweight) motivational coach, right?
“Together, We Build”.
Right up the vomit chart with “Your Network is Your Net worth” and “Your Tribe is Your Vibe”.?
But I guess we fall for these overhyped cliches from time-to-time, because they resonate. Ultimately, they give us a sense of belonging - and no matter how introverted or self-sufficient you claim to be, wanting to feel like you belong is wired in your human DNA.?
So, don’t give yourself a hard time if ever you catch yourself feeling left out now and again. In fact, marketing companies and behavioural psychologists have had a field day with this innate trait among us all; and have cleverly labelled it as “FOMO”.?
Anyway, regardless of how I try to “justify” my words - the intention of this article is to hone-in on the power of positivity and teamwork. As a person who’s always been into some kind of sport, I’m a massive advocate of teamwork and modelling success - and that’s exactly why I’ve emulated it in our franchise program at Luke Stays.
Good News is Like Medicine?
Just a few days ago, Joshua Perry (a valued member of the Luke Stays family) shared a lovely Facebook post about his expanding property portfolio.?
While Joshua was kind enough to mention me and the team, what really touched my heart about this post is how unashamedly proud and HAPPY Joshua seemed. It was as if his words were jumping out of the screen and coming to hug me in person - I really felt the positivity, you know??
Teamwork isn’t just about having people to support during tough times. Sometimes, chronic loneliness is felt by those who reach enormous, life changing achievements and feel they have nobody to share their happiness with. It’s precisely why we hear of so many celebrities and the rich and famous falling victim to depression.
It’s so important to have a community you can share your wins with, as well as your struggles. I feel people don’t talk about this enough - maybe for the fear of judgement, or because they don’t want to seem as though they’re “bragging”.?
But, did you know that science itself? proves that people who share positive news and experiences are more likely to be happier all-round, and productive? (And this goes for the people they’re sharing the news with, too). To back it up, a study at Brigham Young University looked at people who share positive experiences with a friend or partner twice a week - and found that they were more satisfied with life four weeks later.?
If we take it one step further, then several Harvard studies even suggest that sharing and reading good news is good for the heart - and those who absorb more solution-based stories, like Joshua’s Facebook post, are better at dealing with stress.?

Positivity and ‘Team Spirit’ Posts Attract More Engagement?
I know many of the experts rave about the aforementioned FOMO posts, or how massive doses of “fear marketing” is the key to website conversion… but my personal experience (and results across the board) quite blatantly prove otherwise.?
Over the months, positive news and posts about Luke Capital Group’s? biggest (collective) wins have attracted loads more engagement on our social platforms, more than any other kind of posts. This includes our first acquisition, news of us getting the planning permission to redevelop a derelict garage unit in Newcastle and all our “Thank God it’s Monday” posts that foster a real sense of togetherness.?
The numbers speak for themselves.
So, if you ever feel team-led content, or posts from? clubs and communities are a bit airy-fairy, remember they’re not only good for your health, but they’re great for business and have proved to make people more productive and successful. This is one of the main reasons why our franchise models work so well.?
You Can Still Own Your Individuality and Be Part of a Growing Team?
Being part of a team doesn’t mean you have all your individuality stripped away from you, as some of the naysayers may argue. If you see yourself as a bit of a black sheep or an “outlier” - then you’re just as capable or succeeding as part of a community, as anybody else.?
For example, our franchise members have the support of a trusted brand (Luke Stays), as well as all the operational support they need. If anything, this gives them MORE TIME to exercise their personalities and focus on the parts of the business they actually love.
Think of us as a bag of Skittles sweets - we all come in different colours and flavours, but we all come from the same packet - ie, similar life experiences and mindsets that keep us aligned.
Of course, what’s even sweeter than Skittles sweets are our franchise opportunities. If you want to be part of a team, grow together and become successful as a result of positivity and nothing else - then click the link HERE to find out more.
In the meantime, keep building and bettering -
Ryan.
