Together we are always greater

The well known adage is, “The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.” The word “always” does not belong in there, as anyone who has eaten pickles with ice cream can testify. This saying is about synergy and emergent properties. Wheels and axles are nice by themselves, but when you put them together, you have something special. Dick and Jane both like going to the movies, but they have more fun when they go together.

And for humans working together, we also say, “Two heads are better than one.” Anyone who says the whole is not greater than the sum of its parts has never chemically mixed high explosives. Individually, the chemicals are just what they do alone, but put them together and they do so much more. For example you and your girlfriend go to someplace alone which no one is there for the first time, what happens? Your heartbeat goes up, your brain repeatedly said “Oh my god, yes we could do it.but no I cannot do it, no no…but I will do it anyway”. But hey, if your sex drive is only made of a great bunch of atoms of the sex hormones, and you are not sure if those hormones will secrete at the same time for both to have a go at th thing? What happens next is when you are together alone it is but natural to happen therefore don't worry too much.

This is interesting aspect, because atom has no “sexy” properties, that property only comes to exist when atoms form into special formation that creates the form of some sex hormones your girlfriend start secreting in time. "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts" mean like that. When you connect more objects in a way, there will be a system emerge. That system somehow hold new properties that does not exist in those object that form the system. Those atoms of sex hormone from your girlfriend, connect with your high levels of testosterone in new way and reduce some anxiety, you get an apple which does not have “forbidden” property but it has “sweetness” property.

Please notice that there are merely three things you need to remember to connect, more objects and way to connect. Those three things are required to make a bunch of objects emerge into something. You cannot have two people without any strong relationship call couple, you cannot have only one people to call nation, and you cannot have a company that have no title and job description to people in there, regardless how friendly they are

And to summarize, quantity change quality. This universe is not a linear place when you add more of something, it will be the same number. Add more of something can transform those things into one thing new that no one can even think of.
