Together, through every challenge
Among Community Health System 's greatest attributes is our ability to?pull together as a team, especially?when the demands placed on us are most challenging. Never has this been tested more than over these past three years, and never have we responded more heroically. I am inspired by the amazing?dedication and agility demonstrated during and after the pandemic—no matter what challenge we faced. It takes every single one of us to achieve the results that we have.
As we’ve de-escalated many COVID-related processes with the end of government Public Health Emergency declarations, we’re still weathering our share of disruption. The closure of hospital-level services in our region results in an even greater demand for our services. It is more important than ever to ensure we are adequately and timely reimbursed for the care we provide. This also forces us to pursue greater levels of efficiency while delivering the high-quality care that our patients depend on.
Investing in us—now 10,000+ strong
At the same time, we will continue to invest in building and strengthening our organization. At the top of the list is our workforce. We will never stop looking for ways to attract and retain our team of talented individuals—now more than 10,000 strong. There is nothing more gratifying to me than to see thousands of team members grow their careers at Community.?

I’m looking forward to building upon the Valley’s excellent nursing education programs by investing in one of our own—creating more opportunities for our team members interested in joining the ranks of our remarkable RNs. This is in addition to the opportunities created from our existing partnerships with local nursing programs, as well as scholarships and tuition reimbursement that our team members continue to benefit from.
Celebrating employee service milestones
As I celebrate a 20-year milestone along with many other members of our Community family, I am grateful for the professional development opportunities my years at Community have afforded me. Amazingly, we’re celebrating two 50-year employees this year—Medical Transcriptionists, Phyllis Scroggins and Linda Bush!
