Canon Middle East and Canon Central and North Africa are marking the true spirit of Ramadan, as we embrace the Holy Month at a time of great challenge.
This special month brings a welcome period for reflection and piety as we collectively seek ways to give back to our communities and make a positive difference.
Our team members are virtually coming together to support one another as well as the people impacted by Covid-19 – a strong testament to our commitment to the community.
We are driving special Ramadan activations that support our communities as well as those who are adapting to the new normal – be it through work-from-home regimens or e-learning, both calling for support mechanisms.
Among our key activations, we have rolled out our annual internal fundraising activities with our popular Ramadan internal competition, which successfully brings people together for all the right reasons.
The aim of the competition is to raise funds for a selection of charities through the design and implementation of a business idea, across intra-departmental teams that utilise social media channels as the primary source of awareness raising.
But it’s much more than just fundraising, it’s an opportunity to demonstrate teamwork and camaraderie in aiming for success and a commitment to innovation. Ultimately, it underlines our corporate philosophy of kyosei, which means working and living together for the common good.
The initiative was launched last year in the region and proved to be a popular, engaging and challenging task that the teams cherished, as they worked towards business presentation ideas. It culminated with a supplementary donation to the cause chosen by the winning team.
To engage our community further during this Holy Month, we have also launched a photo challenge on our social media platforms encouraging people and families to share their favourite Ramadan photo – from close family gatherings, decorations and dishes.
This Ramadan will certainly be one to remember, and in the true spirit of the Holy Month, Canon is committed to doing all we can to help shape better future for us all.
