TODAY'S TALENT, TOMORROW'S TOURISM
They, the new generations, are the people who are building our future. And they do so not only as a society, but also as a business fabric.
That is why it is so important to be in their present, in their concerns and desires, and to promote the development of their talents and abilities.
With the arrival of September a new school year begins for everyone, but especially for those who are in training, so I always include in my CEO of Grupo Pi?ero agenda some kind of contact with that emerging talent that gives me the opportunity to exchange knowledge. I believe in the need to create references, transmit experiences and project hope and enthusiasm to all those young people who choose the tourism sector as a profession. Therefore, I invite all of us who love this sector to try to give an answer to the following question: how can we attract new generations to find their place in the tourism sector?
There is something we are very aware of: our sector needs skilled and enthusiastic professionals so that tourism companies can continue to improve every day, create better experiences for our customers and, in addition, guarantee our sustainability over time.
This sector has found solutions and faced great challenges from which we have emerged stronger over time. A sector that in 2023 will have surpassed all post-pandemic forecasts that predicted its recovery in 2024, where unemployment fell by 8.1% in the first quarter alone, and where we continue to be one of the industries that contribute most to economic and social growth in our country.
A sector where people are the cornerstone, capable of having an impact not only on the social development of a country, but also on its well-being, and which has proven to continue to be a benchmark of resilience, able to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
And it is, against all odds, the same sector that has been facing, for several years now, one of the most important challenges: searching for and retaining talent.

One of the conclusions of these encounters was that the new generations are looking to connect and find spaces that allow them to create a sense of community. And precisely tourism connects, it creates that cultural link between traveler and destination, it allows us to live lives in other places and with other people who are different from us. Is there anything more exciting?
When you work in this sector you realize that you live many worlds through others and that connection with the ‘other’ is what generates new experiences.
If it is clear to us, let's go after it... let's not wait any longer! Wherever we can engage in a conversation, facilitate that connection, which guarantees active listening, not only on their part, but also on ours.
Let's show how Spanish multinational tourism companies are one of the most important engines for generating employment and how they surpass themselves every day, to assert the good reputation of a sector that has its arms and ears open to welcome them, make them fall in love and give them that place where they belong.
We are going to continue to make it possible, for their tomorrow and also for ours.
