Today’s Quick Entertainment Notes
Georgia Entertainment
The leading source of competitive intelligence for the creative industries in Georgia.
?? And that’s a wrap, 2024! We ended the year with a bang last week as over 700 professionals attended the Signature 100. The invite only event was presented by Assembly Studios, Discover Dunwoody and Universal Production Services. Thank you all for capturing the magic and sharing it across your social media, we are so grateful for the overwhelming feedback and love to see you all in your element. The official recap is live including photos, reels and a summary of what happened at the event in case you missed it.
Georgia Entertainment thrives thanks to the dedication of our team and the unwavering support of our industry partners. The passion and commitment of everyone involved in our journey are both exceptional and inspiring. Having spent 15 years in Los Angeles and working across the globe in the creative industries, I can confidently say that what’s unfolding in Georgia is truly one of a kind — more than just an industry, it’s a community and I believe it is the future of entertainment.
Congratulations to Chris Escobar for being named Creative Champion of the Year. We appreciate the time and efforts of the elected leaders and legislators who were in attendance and who continue to support the creative industries. Special thanks to SCAD and the SCADpro team for collaborating with us to curate our most memorable Creative Economy Journal to date. It was an absolute honor to spotlight the High Museum of Art inside the world-class sound stage illustrating the harmony of art with all areas of the creative industries.
Behind the scenes, it takes a village to produce such a memorable event. I shared my personal experience with the crew and our key partners that made the Signature 100 shine. Besides their annual financial investment supporting our work, our partners are always looking for ways to go over and beyond. ICP, NEP Sweetwater, Lightscape, Showrig, Classic Tents, Yancey, AFR Furniture, Cellberus, SOS Logistics, MBS, Sterling Studio Cafe, Herc and so many more aligned to create this special evening.
As the curtains close on this year and we take a moment to pause and reflect, we’re filled with excitement for what lies ahead in 2025. Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and a prosperous new year!
Til next time, onward and upward!!

A potential ban of the popular social media app, TikTok, has been in the news for years, but recent events suggest that it may become reality for Americans in the coming weeks. On December 6, 2024, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit upheld the TikTok divest-or-ban law as constitutional, finding it does not violate the First Amendment. The law requires the Chinese-based parent company of TikTok, ByteDance, to divest from TikTok or face a ban on U.S. networks and app stores.

2 个月With the slowdown in production the state should wind down the Film office, who seems to be doing nothing to bring productions to the state, and instead direct that money towards what Georgia Entertainment is doing. Money is much better spent going into the private sector.
