Today’s Quick Entertainment Notes

?? Creative and entertainment professionals in Louisiana are rallying against a special session called by the Governor to cut tax incentives, including the state's $150 million annual film program. On Wednesday, the House overwhelmingly voted to advance the cuts, and the issue now moves to the Senate, where advocates remain hopeful for a compromise. While there are complex political factors at play, the immediate effect is clear: the threat to eliminate the tax credit is already impacting future productions in Louisiana.

I’m especially grateful for Georgia’s strong commitment to maintaining our film incentive, but we can never take it for granted. Ongoing education and engagement with our elected officials are critical to its continued success. More.

Ironically, I’m in New Orleans for SET the Show, the annual conference for global executives managing housing, hotels, airfare, and transportation for film, music, and other entertainment productions. I had the honor of speaking on a panel called "Deep Dive into Emerging & Attractive Film Markets," and meet with executives from Sony, Amazon, Disney, Universal Music Group, and others.
