Part 33: THE 2ND AD

We have a confession to make.

If you’ve been following our posts you probably noticed...

But no one said anything.

In production, there is a hierarchy.

A pecking order if you will.

And we just ran right past one in line.

We went from 1st AD to 2nd 2nd AD…

We hope all the 2nd ADs will be cool with that mistake ;)

This week’s protag:

The 2nd AD!

First things first…

What’s the difference between the 2nd AD and the 2nd 2nd?

The 2nd AD is the one responsible for all the call sheets (forms that tell all the crew where and when to show up, and other relevant information), and they have to have a basic understanding of every department.

Sounds like a location department mindset to us!

What does this mean for me?

Every production runs a little bit differently.

From TV Shows, movies, commercials, and even photo shoots, there might not be official positions at every caliber.

But there is always a common thread.

One constant that threads through each type of production.

And unless they are on a sound stage…

They need a location to shoot at.

If you are a business owner, real estate mogul, or friend of a friend of a friend who has access to any kind of property and interested in jumping in…

Come on in, the water’s fine.

The more you know.

It's time to make movie magic happen.

We’ll see you in the credits.
