Before investing, we see the underlying value for the price, we pay & Bitcoin has no underlying value.
Today bitcoin, ethereum , lite coin & other new digital currency have taken over the market. The price of Bitcoin have risen with 1500% over the last year. Its double the 2017 alone. Ethereum on the other hand is 6000%.
The biggest risk today is it's highly volatile. It can go up by 25% in 30 minutes or hours or they can crash, which is extremely common. Specially now as Bitcoin & Ethereum have become so much valuable, some billionaire investors have put in their 5% to 10% of their net worth into crypto-currency, because they say it would be the next big thing but eventually at the same time some investor think it is a bubble & could be even bigger than the .com bubble.
As new gold is mined, there is always less and less gold left and it becomes harder and more expensive to find and mine.The same is true with Bitcoin.
There are only 21 million Bitcoin, and as time goes on, they become harder and harder to mine
