Today's Mantra: Publish and Publish Frequently
Hello all -
Everyone will agree that you need at least one video on your business website. I'd like to go a step further and say one is not enough. It is not in my own self-interest that I write this. Having multiple videos on your website (and having a strategy for publishing them) can help build awareness in several ways.?
Today's posting is inspired by this article:?
Here is what you need to do and why: First, build up an inventory of short, informational videos. These videos do not pitch your goods or services. Rather, they are designed to inform your audience about topics that resonate with them. For example, if you are a Realtor or Broker, have videos about home ownership. The rains in January would have been a perfect time to talk about cleaning your gutters. Spring is coming, so why not a nice video on early vegetables in your garden?
By the way, these types of videos are easily created by yourself using your smart phone. If you are struggling with this part of your business, let me know and I can give you some suggestions.
Once you have 6 to 12 videos "in the can", now is the time to set when and where you publish them. I recommend publishing every other week. When you publish, first publish to You Tube and then link the video to your website. Google owns You Tube. Google likes it when you have new content on your website and Google knows when you post video content on your website. This all helps with your Google rankings. So if I Google "San Jose Realtor", you should come up on the first two pages of returns or for all practical purposes, you don't exist.

In summary, post your videos to You Tube every other week, link them to your website, and your Google rankings will slowly improve.
Bonus tip: Several days before posting, email your client database list and let them know what and when you are posting. This gives you a reason to reach out and keeps you top of mind.
In other news, I was droning for Dark Rainbow Films yesterday in Livermore, filming and droning for an Ohlone College baseball coach last week, and filming for a large attorney firm in Palo Alto tomorrow. Life is good!
As always, if you have any questions about your video, if you need tips, or if you would like to engage me in your video production, please let me know. You can contact me in San Jose at 415-720-9551 or by email: [email protected]
Happy shooting!

2 年Is every two weeks often enough? I've heard suggestions to post content from every day to every week. Not just videos. Do you have a suggestion to schedule videos that are in the can?
