?? BREAKING NEWS: Atlanta one of six finalists in bid to host Sundance Film Festival. Today, the nonprofit Sundance Institute announced the six finalists of its Request for Proposal (RFP) process for a host location for the Sundance Film Festival. These locations have been selected to move forward to the next phase as potential host cities for the Festival beginning in 2027: Atlanta,?Georgia | Boulder, Colorado | Cincinnati, Ohio | Louisville, Kentucky | Park City/Salt Lake City, Utah | Santa Fe, New Mexico.

?? This week, we announced a new series that will carry onward focusing on independent projects within the creative industries. Indie Spotlight will highlight filmmakers, artists, musicians, gamers and others looking to share their ideas and concepts with the world. The first Indie Spotlight features independent film ‘Brutal Season’?on July 26th at the Tara Theatre. (Get your ticket .) The evening will begin with a panel discussion featuring the film’s Writer & Director, Gavin Fields, Producer and Actress, Shelby Grady, Tony Award-winning Actor Shuler Hensley, and Gaffer, Tom Festo. More .

?? A must read: “Mom, I can’t find any music for me” – Georgia Production Company Readies for Star Forest . Genevieve LeDoux of Silver Comet Productions has shared more about the highly anticipated development of Star Forest. “For three years, I’ve been pretty tight-lipped about a project that’s been consuming my every waking moment. Today, I’m beginning to pull back the curtain on Star Forest – not just a show, not merely a virtual band, but an entire universe crafted from the ground up to revolutionize kids and family entertainment.” More .

?? We will be on Georgia’s coast next week meeting with partners and local officials. A highlight will be attending the Savannah Film Alliance meeting on July 25th at Savannah Tech. Following that meeting, the Coastal Entertainment Alliance will hold a special social at Byrd Cookie Company. Reach out if you plan to attend these events or wish to connect.
