?? Atlanta has unveiled its bid to host Sundance in 2027, following the submission deadline for the other 15 competing cities last Friday. The pitch is comprehensive, addressing key concerns of Sundance leaders. It's fascinating to see the lens through which Atlanta is showcasing itself. Regardless of Sundance's pending decision, the collaborative effort to develop an economic pitch centered around the creative industries in ATL will be valuable.
We anticipate that other cities will also reveal their bids ahead of the next phase of the selection process. This allows communities to showcase their creative plans while still in consideration. On that note, many of these cities will likely need to respond to ‘open records requests’ from media and organizations, making their once closely concealed pitches public.
Meanwhile, from Savannah: “Savannah is the perfect backdrop to large scale events like the Sundance Film Festival. Not only do we host more than 17 million visitors each year, but the city also comes together to execute two already existing large scale annual events – the Savannah Music Festival and the country’s third largest St. Patrick’s Day parade. Savannah offers a vibrant and supportive community that fosters creativity and innovation, making it the perfect home for Sundance Film Festival in 2027 and beyond. We thank the organization for considering Savannah as their future potential host city.” Trip Tollison President and CEO Savannah Economic Development Authority
