Today’s Axiom of Success: #223 Axiom of The Full Value of Joy. From GW’s Executive Manager Workbench….

The Axioms of Success

Around 1995, my firm identified that high-growth companies all performed similar practices for achieving high-growth. We analyzed the pragmatic hard-skill competencies which they all had in common, and we observed that these competencies all evolved from six (6) functions of leadership-management:?Strategy, Planning, Organizing, Leadership, Teamwork, and Control.

We then codified the competencies within these six functions and we call them the Axioms of Success, because all successful companies practice them pragmatically. Today there are 248 axioms related to these competencies, and we are the only firm that has identified them for executives.a

In working with these high-growth companies, we also recognized a very real, interpersonal skillset that they all practiced which one called “the full value of joy.”?Since we observed this in all the high-growth companies to some degree, it became an Axiom of Success.

#223-AXIOM OF The Full Value of Joy

A company receives the full value of joy when you have someone to divide the success with, and a pay for performance model guarantees that the people pulling the wagon get compensated more than the people riding in the wagon.

Successful CEOs recognize that employees at any level who are consistently achieving more objectives to metric than others should be rewarded and recognized by paying them for their performance.
