If Today Was Your Last Day
As we mourn the death of my cousin, JR Ford, it made me reflect on what if today is my last day…what would I want people to know? I wrote this early this morning as I was listening to the storm pass through. Hope it hits home and makes you reflect on what would you want people to know if this was your last day.
“If today was my last day, know that I strived to love You, God, with my whole heart. If today was my last day, know that I loved people for their souls, not for what the world says they are. If today was my last day, know that a huge part of me wanting to be successful was to give back to my family and the community. If today was my last day, know that I always wanted to bring joy and motivate people to dream big and place their foundation under God. If today was my last day, know that I have grieved and prayed for all the hearts I have broken. If today was my last day, know that I’m now walking on streets of gold with my Savior and I’m looking down watching over you. If today was your last day, what would you want people to know?”
I encourage you to take the time to dwell on what I wrote. Regardless where you are in life, everyone came into this world the same way and will leave the same. Maybe you made decisions recently that you aren’t proud of and it hurt people. Maybe you feel like there is no hope and your life feels as if you are walking the plank into a sea of sharks. Or maybe things are going great, but you want to do more for people. Whatever the case may be, I encourage you to think hard about what you want people to know if today happened to be your last day. There is power in YOUR WORDS.

Michael Ford, I'm very sorry for your loss. I recently lost someone who was young and very near and dear in my heart. No words are truer and more helpful at this time. Thankyou.
