As we know drilling is one of the most important and time-consuming?processes during PCB manufacture.the drilled holes are what form the electrical connections from one layer of circuits to another.so you must carefully do it because even a slight mistake can cause a severe impact on the PCB quality.

Many factors can affect the results of drilling. The drilling machine, spindle, backup and entry board, as well as drill bits.

• Regarding?to the drilling machine,Schmoll and Hitachi have a very?good?performance, especially for micro drilling.
• Regarding for the spindle,we know West wind high speed air bearing spindle is a very good choose.and of course you need do spindle maintenance regularly to make sure they are always in a best condition.
• Regarding to the backup and entry board,now days we have a better choice,white coating melamine backup board and lubrication?AL entry sheet which can reduce the drilling burr and improve the drill bit life.
• Regarding to the drill bit.it’s a very important?factors.so it’s very important for you to chose a suitable drill bit for your PCB.

1. When processing Flexible PCB, it is recommended to use ST type drill bit to reduce PP and PI pulling situation
2. When processing Rigid PCB, it is recommended to use UC type drill bit to reduce hole wall roughness and nail head situation
3. When Processing Flexible-Rigid?board, generally can use UC type or ST type design, according to the substrate inner layer design difference,ST type?was?recommended?if Flexible structure more?, UC type?was recommended?if?Rigid structure more
