Today is My Half Birthday
Not so important anymore, but when I was ten, and I took my friends to Ice Capades Chalet in NoHo, or North Hollywood for the right handed people, one of my friends walked up to someone else while we were celebrating me and said, "Today is my half birthday!!!"
Way to steal my thunder, Kevin ;) Being a math guy, and it was after all, girls skate, or maybe the Zamboni was doing it's thing, I immediately made a calculation. Six plus one is Seven. 4 is still 4. July 4th.... at 3:55 pm, another half year of my life will have gone by, however, I'm not truly counting anymore.
God knows I'm not counting any less either, however, this isn't about math, unless it's about time. More and more these days, I'm seeing stories about time travel, and the past. What would you do differently?
Well, according to the math, after you harness the power of the sun, you can go back, however, you might not be able to go forward either.... Therefore, time travel as a concept should be a last resort. You may fix the problem that you wanted to fix, however, how's that affect your new present?
Do you make your present better, or worse? We all know The grandfather paradox, however, what if you apply rule 63? You go back, and kill your grandmother. Your granddad mourns for however long, but then a different woman comes along, and you have a new grandmother when you get back to the present day.
Are you better, or worse? I think I've come to the conclusion that we are all traveling through time in only one direction at this point. All of us reading this probably won't get to go back and fix anything in our lives anytime soon.
We are in a time of crisis, pandemic, whatever "THEY" are labeling it, and you can argue about who knew what when, or you can do what I'm doing, and write more as you're supposedly confined to your home and desktop device.
