Today is Memorial Day...

America's excuse to BBQ, but also a day to recognize ALL #Americans who died defending our #Values, our #Democracy, & our Country. We are the most successful nation in history... because of our ideals enshrined in our #Consitution, believed in by The #World, that we were "conceived in #Liberty, & dedicated to the proposition that all [people] are created equal" that truth that #diversity, evident in nature... evident in our history, is our greatest strength. And the #Freedom to allow it to flourish is our greatest wealth. Our #World is threatened by the resurgence of #tribalism & #nationalism that our soldiers fought 154 & 75yrs ago & we have to fight every day... because #Bigotry & #Hate is the enemy of all. It attacks the individual within us for the means to be controlled by others. It is the true definition of #tyranny. Every time you #discriminateagainst someone, cheat someone, you demean yourself & desecrate our creed. Fear of the others is not a justification, it is a weakness in your #Principles, your #Faith, & your oath to this Great Nation. Our president & his #administration is guilty of undermining this country, our laws, & our collective future. By means of #Greed, #Ignorance & #Hate his policies tear down Trust, tear down Equality, tear down Rights you take for granted -- dividing US. Our guilt is that we are allowing them to do so. Epluribus unum - Out of many, one. #America won those battles because we recognized the promise (yet obtained) that we are one nation, indivisible, with #Liberty & #Justice for ALL. On this day we should remind him & ourselves that America is the shared vision that each one of us deserves respect for who we are & being an American is hard work, it asks of each of us to be informed, to think for ourselves & to defend the rights of others, in order to defend ourselves; free of the threat of harm by #governments, #industry, or by fellow individuals. Because #freedom is not free!
