Today marks the 22nd anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Do you remember where you were when the tragedy unfolded?

On that day, 2,977 people were killed in the deadliest terrorist attack in American history. Two planes were hijacked and flown into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, a third plane hit the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and a fourth plane crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

The attacks were a day of unspeakable tragedy, but they also brought out the best in America. People from all walks of life came together to help those in need, and the courage and sacrifice of our first responders was truly inspiring.

I want to take this opportunity to shout out to our first responders and those who perished in the attacks on that day. Your bravery and dedication will never be forgotten.

I also want to remember the innocent lives that were lost. You were taken from us too soon, but your memory will live on in our hearts. ??

September 11th is a day of remembrance, but it is also a day of hope. We will never forget the victims of these attacks, but we will also never give in to fear. We will stand united as a nation and fight against terrorism in all its forms.

I hope you will join me in taking a moment today to remember the victims of 9/11 and to honor the courage and sacrifice of our first responders.

Here are some additional ways to remember and honor the victims of 9/11:

  • Visit a 9/11 memorial or museum.
  • Light a candle or say a prayer.
  • Donate to a 9/11 charity.
  • Volunteer your time to help others.
  • Teach your children about 9/11 and its importance.

Let us never forget the events of September 11, 2001. Let us also never forget the lessons we learned from that day: that we are stronger together, that we will never give in to fear, and that we will always stand up for what is right.

In loving memory of those impacted by 9/11 and those who paid the ultimate price... Never forget!
