Today, I turn 30.

I’ve spent 4 hours writing a statement about why I am doing what I am doing. Somehow, it seems so important to me. I am not very social, both virtually and in real life. So let it be a letter to myself, my team, my family, my friends and present and future business partners. It’s quite long so I will post it little by little over the next few days.

Since I was 16, every day I felt that most things I do are temporary. I was always trying new things, tasting what success could feel like if I really invest in them, and then dropping them for the next thing. I earned a terrible reputation among dozens of people. 'A smart guy, but can’t deliver'. Others, who did stick to one thing, a career or a business, did better. For some reason, it was important for me to keep looking. As if I knew there is a place I belong to.

Back in August 2015, I did hit a mental wall. At the age of 25, I’ve built myself a cage of comfort and pleasure by exploiting other people and mastering manipulation and dishonesty. That is how I learned that by working with toxic people you become one yourself. I had to win myself back. I realized that the key to breaking free of my cage was finding an environment and purpose that I will not treat as a temporary one. I imagine it like a bottom of a gravity well, where your kinetic energy is finally zero.

I’ve realized that space exploration was my final destination. I wrote a short, but a detailed 3 year plan to break free. In a nutshell, it was a plan to spend 1 year in networking and education, 1 year in searching for a business idea and a final one to build a team and start working towards the idea. I followed the plan while observing my feelings and emotions very carefully along the way. I had to be sure I am doing the right thing. I wanted to build relationships and knowledge that lasted and matured over time.

It may all sound naive and set a lot of eyes rolling, but this is just who I am. Today I am where I am because of the decisions I made 4 years ago.

But more on that tomorrow.

"In a nutshell, it was a plan to spend 1 year in networking and education, 1 year in searching for a business idea and a final one to build a team and start working towards the idea." I wanted to ask if it worked out, but I assume I'll learn that in the next post
