Today I was reminded...

I woke up today searching for something, but couldn't quite put my finger on what. I had a few errands to run and ended up near a park. With my e-bike in the car, I said, "Why not?"

Here are a few things I was reminded of.

The road less traveled is often a rough, bumpy, uphill ride. You're not always going to have the correct tools for the job. Take a breath, go at your own pace, and see where it leads.

There WILL be obstacles. You WILL get your feet wet, and your hands dirty.

Obstacles come from all directions. Always be prepared to duck.

You WILL make wrong turns and get stuck in the mud. Persevere.

It's always better to build a bridge than burn one. An olive (or oak) branch might feel shaky but it's better than nothing at all.

No matter how heavy your baggage is, don't be afraid to take a leap.

There WILL be heartbreak and loss. Pay your respects, never forget, and get back on the bike.

Stay humble, and know your limits.

Stop and enjoy beauty whenever it crosses your path.

The map you have isn't always going to be clear. Don't dwell. Make your best guess, hold on, and go along for the ride.

Be grateful you woke up today and had the opportunity to continue your journey, no matter where it looks like it's taking you.
