Today I Awake, August 18, 2022
Today I awake with thoughts of who I am as a human. In my mind, one of the most important things everyone should be able to feel comfortable with is to be open and accepting of their feelings. Recent posts over the past year about tragic life choices, remind me of a very important documentary called 'The Mask You Live In' which brings to light a very serious problem young boys are up against, and that's a very skewed version of what masculinity is. A direct quote from the trailer 'The 3 most destructive words that every man receives when he was a boy, is when he is told to be a man' which can lead to a sad statistic, also from this documentary, that every day 3 or more boys commit suicide in the united states. We are in a critical time, where connections through social media and the growing concept of the metaverse, will create an extraordinary global impact and I really hope that messages of love, compassion, understanding, and peace will resonate and that everyone can love who they are, and not traumatized by a skewed version that is perceived. It's why I write this blog, as this is my example that it is ok to be yourself :) This photo is my 2nd Burning Man with Tina, taken at sunrise, and for me represents the power of an open heart and to always remain true to yourself.
