Is today a good museum day?

What if every day of our lives was cataloged? Our feelings, the people we deal with, the things we spend our time with? And what if at the end of our lives a museum was built to show exactly how we have spent our lives?
If we spent 80 percent of our time with things that don't fulfill us or that we don't enjoy, then 80 percent of the museum would be filled with them. You would see pictures, videos and quotations showing scenes of various unhappy moments.
If we are 90 percent happy and content and spend our time with friendly people, you would also see that in the museum.
If we enjoy spending time with friends and family but dedicate only two percent of our lives to all that, then only two percent of our museum would be filled with it - as much as we would like something else.
Imagine what it would be like to walk through your own museum and see your own pictures and videos. How would you feel? How would you feel if you knew that the museum would forever show you the way you are remembered?
The memories of us would not be based on the life we actually dreamed of, but on how we actually lived.
This book is absolutely recommendable for everyone, but also especially for personnel consultants/human resources departments and executives. If you follow the directions, it will help you build a great and successful team. "Good leaders have a clear understanding of who they are and where they are going. They create environments in which the surrounding people can thrive."
It is also about recognizing and fulfilling the purpose of our existence. What are your dreams and values that you want to fulfill and live by?
The big five for life! What a great book!

4 年So true great reminder to stop and smell the roses
Hi Sarina, I like the idea. I think about regular score checks being beneficial but then I think about my weekly report from my iPhone about how I spent my time. It creates a short term awareness, but I daresay that the impact is short term. We need habit changes, things that kick us in the butt until we do something better.

4 年It's easy for the line to blur between the life you dream of and the reality you're living. I try to keep mindful to understand if i'm not happy with something am I actively trying to change it?
Great article Sarina Glanz! We should spend time with the people we want to be and do the things we love doing.
