Today, 5 years ago, I had the idea for mywage.
I remember it vividly. At the time, I was juggling two demanding roles; one as an FD at a tech company and another managing a recruitment business. Both were fast-paced, dynamic environments, but one problem kept nagging at me: payroll.
Despite advancements in technology, the payroll systems available then were clunky, rigid, and unable to handle the complexities of modern staffing needs. They forced us to rely on spreadsheets, manual reconciliations, and endless double-checking; a frustrating process that drained time and energy. It wasn’t just a business challenge; it felt like an industry-wide inefficiency that was begging for innovation.
That frustration became my inspiration. I thought, “There has to be a better way.”
From that spark, the idea for mywage?was born: a vision to simplify payroll for staffing companies and empower workers with transparency over their earnings. I wanted to create a solution that was:

? Configurable to handle the complexities of modern payroll without workarounds.
? Empowering for workers, giving them instant clarity over their pay and deductions.
Fast forward to today, mywage isn’t just an idea anymore - it’s a platform that’s driving real change in how businesses manage payroll and how workers experience it.
But this journey wasn’t without challenges. Building something new from the ground up required:
