Tobi shares how the Miele sales development programme has supported and inspired him to make a real difference

What has?your career journey been like?with Miele?

I graduated with a Biomedical science degree, but soon after I decided that I wanted to work in a commercially-focused role – which is why I joined Phillips on their commercial graduate scheme.?

As part of my graduate scheme I particularly enjoyed the exposure I had to marketing, sales and business operations and my final rotation on the scheme meant that I moved into account management looking after Tesco, Asda and Morrisons.

After a couple of years in account management I decided to join Miele in February 2022, and the key driver behind this decision was that I wanted to gain experience in a new environment and was attracted to the Miele brand and product status.

I joined as a Key Account Manager and have progressed quickly into a National Account Manager role, where I look after the Currys and Hughes accounts.

Why Miele?

The people are a reflection of the company and that was great from the start. Through the interviews and interactions that I had with people, I knew it felt right.

The company offered the resources and support that I was looking for to further progress within and beyond my role. In particular, Miele has a sales development programme which offers an ongoing programme of learning and this was one of the key things that really appealed to me about joining.?

What do you like most about working at Miele GB?

There is a really collaborative approach working at Miele. There is a strong link between sales, marketing and other departments and this co-creation aspect is what I like most.?

The opportunities to progress within the company across different teams that are spoken about at interview are genuinely present and I think this shows a real commitment to their employees, and again the people, the people at Miele are great to work with!

What advice would you give to someone thinking of joining Miele?

I would say – have an open mindset. You need to have tenacity and drive, the business is evolving. In return you have the opportunity to be the person to create. You have an opportunity to leave a footprint, to really leave your mark.?
The GB business is set up so that you can step change and make things happen. If you have that mindset and desire, you will gain the satisfaction of making a real difference.
