Nurses from District 3 of the Texas Nurses Association volunteered this week at Community Food Bank in Fort Worth, Texas. The nurses packed and distributed food to community members in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday. This is the third time this year that District 3 nurses have volunteered at Community Food Bank, Inc. The food bank is in its 39th year of operation, and relies on volunteers to sort, pack, and distribute boxes to clients in the community. 400-800 families receive food here daily, with demand increasing during the holiday season.
District 3 President, Chris Rougeux, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, NPD-BC , states, "This week, members of Texas Nurses Association District 3 had the privilege of serving at Community Food Bank in Fort Worth, TX. The food bank will distribute over 5,000 turkeys this holiday season!" Thank you, D3 nurses, for your commitment to serve our neighbors here in North Texas!"
District 3 of the Texas Nurses Association serves Tarrant, Johnson, Erath, Hood, Palo Pinto, Parker, and Somervell counties. The Texas Nurses Association supports nursing across the state by providing continuing education, practice protection, and developing legislation that protects and supports nursing.
