TMD: Preparation Is the Key

TMD: Preparation Is the Key

What’s up Kaizenovators, happy Tuesday Two Minute Drill. Today's topic of conversation is preparation. Over the last several weeks, it's been a bit stressful in my life. I feel like I had not been performing at my best and there are lots of reasons for it, but at the end of the day, none of it matters because as leaders, our responsibility is to always do whatever we can to function at our very best, to support our teams, to support our mission, to support our own personal and professional growth.

How did I get Through this?

One, I was able to recognize that I was not #performing at my best. The first step was recognition. The second step was forgiveness. I could have spent some time feeling bad about myself or emotionally punishing myself for not being at my very best but that wasn't going to be productive for me, and I don't think it's going to be #productive for anyone else.

What must I do? What must be true for me to be at my best moving forward?

That brings us to step number three, which is preparation. #Preparation is the key for me. I have been doing a lot of traveling over the last two months, and I think where I've probably not done as well as I would like is in preparation for the upcoming week.

This past weekend, I spent a good amount of time thinking about critical conversations that I wanted to have and the way I wanted to have those conversations in order to drive #growth. I spent a lot of time preparing and thinking about what these conversations, these meetings, and these one-on-ones were going to look like. As a result, I have had a great Monday so far, and Tuesday is getting started. I am really excited about the day.

I just want to share with you again, if you feel like you are not doing your best, #recognize it, #forgive yourself, and find a tool, a trick, a way to get past that information.

It was all about preparation because you know what? #Winning happens way before anybody sees you in the #victory. That's this week's Two Minute Drill.

Have a great week, guys. Talk to y'all later.
