TMD: CELEBRATE

TMD: CELEBRATE

What’s up Kaizenovators, happy Tuesday Two Minute Drill. Today’s topic of conversation is #celebration. I am here in beautiful Long Beach, California. Today is my father’s 91st birthday and we are celebrating his birthday. It got me thinking a lot about the book that was written by BJ Fogg called Tiny Habits, and he talked about the key elements of building #successful #habits in your life.

Celebrate the Wins

One of the most important things that need to be done in order to build successful habits is celebrating the wins, celebrating those accomplishments, those tiny little things that you do that get you closer and closer to your habits and your #goals.

Whether it’s something personal in your life, like you’re trying to improve your level of fitness, or you’re trying to run your best time in a marathon, or if it’s something in your business where you’re trying to drive improvements and growth in your business, building tiny habits with you and your team and celebrating those little victories along the way, especially when things are not going perfectly well, is really important to keep the momentum going.

I constantly reinforce positive behaviors and things that are driving change in our practices with our team. In fact, we use a technology platform called Bonusly, where we literally celebrate any behavior that aligns with our core values and or our mission statement, and our team has really gotten excited about it. People get points for doing really cool things and living our core values and our mission statement. It just creates a lot of excitement and a lot of fun. It is great to see the gratitude that each one of our teammates has for each other.

Celebrate those little victories in order to drive the habits and behaviors that you’re looking for to create positive change in your business and in your life.

That’s this week’s Two Minute Drill. I’m going to have a couple of glasses of wine with my family, eat a good meal, and celebrate my dad’s 91st birthday. You all have a great week and I’ll talk to y’all next week.
