T&M in an industry controlled by GIANTS - Challenge accepted

As a previous restoration contractor and the founder of T&M Pro, I bring a unique perspective to contractors' challenges in the property loss sector, particularly in Time and Materials (T&M) billing. This industry frequently encounters challenges associated with generic published price lists that fail to account for the diverse operational expenses of individual contractors, as well as realistic yield rates that fail to correspond with the precise details of individual projects. These inefficiencies ultimately result in revenue loss and payment delays. In my experience, once a price list is published or distributed with an estimating program in this industry, it is often referred to as a “Standard Price,” and in many cases, this is used against the contractor, ignoring all signed pricing agreements with their clients.?

How did I overcome this challenge? This was when I realized that our industry needed another alternative, and my first stab at T&M was a program called Contractor Billing Solutions, in which I developed the primary platform during Hurricane Hugo in 1989. I understood that this program must be built to deliver accurate, transparent, consistent results aligned with agreements. Surprisingly, it worked, and payment negotiations nearly came to a halt. I realized then that I needed to move forward with the transition from a line item program to a T&M component program that creates an "INVOICE" per?actual work performed and?aligned to pricing and term?agreements.

I recall how many individuals predicted that I would never succeed in an industry dominated by the giants... It has been a blessing that I disregarded the negative, accepted the challenge, and persisted on my journey.

After several years and version changes, we now offer a solid and proven solution. T&M Pro, developed from authentic industry experience, offers the best solution. Unlike other software used in our industry, it focuses on transparency and aligns with specific contractual agreements and pricing schedules, including terms and conditions. Today, T&M Pro includes a 'Pricing and Agreement Attachment' feature for clear billing understanding. It provides contractors with tailored tools to create pricing, terms, and conditions, ensuring control and efficiency. This counters the industry's reliance on standard pricing from external sources, giving contractors a more reliable and suitable billing system. Our users do not have to worry about T&M Pro as we use no zip codes, nor does our program pull pricing from any database owned or controlled by T&M Pro or any other entity within the property loss industry. The contractor and/or their clients own all pricing and terms.?
