Community, Coffee, Care - that is what The Lewis Foundation UK coffee shop, Elgar Centre,High Street, Upton, Northampton, with profits from every purchase funding the free gift packs and support we provide to adult cancer patients in hospital. Our Co-Founder Lorraine Lewis shares about the coffee shop in the video above.

We are open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 9am - 11am and Saturdays 9am - 11am.

Serving a variety of coffee, teas, cooked breakfasts, cakes, snacks and more brought to your by our amazing team at The Lewis Foundation. We cater for gluten free with plenty of options and we are dog friendly too.

CAN YOU HELP BY VOLUNTEERING AT OUR WATER DASH EVENT

Can you help us by volunteering at our annual fun run The Water Dash?

Taking place on Saturday 20th July 2024, 1pm at Upton Country Park in Northampton (at the back of The Elgar Centre)

We are looking for:

Water Ninjas - using our super soakers to spray participants as they make our way around the corner.

Course Set Up from 6am - 11am on the day (volunteer for as long or as little as you like)

Registration - greeting participants and signing them in ready for the race.

We would love to have you as part of the team, helping to raise awareness/funds to provide our free gift packs and support to adult cancer patients in hospital.

OUR GIFT GIVING OVER THE LAST WEEK

Closing April with another 201 of our charity The Lewis Foundation UK gifts given to adult cancer patients in Northampton General Hospital this week.

111 gifts put in our gift station in oncology for the day patients in oncology next to the reception desk. People can select a gift of their choice once they check in for their appointment and treatment. They have been kindly funded by Scott Bader Commonwealth over the last year and we can’t thank them enough for their support and the tangible difference it makes to the recipients who receive them. We give over 400 gifts a month in this unit.

We also collected a donation of goodies from a patient who had finished treatment and wanted to pay it forward to help others.

90 gifts then made way their way to the inpatient ward on Talbot Butler Ward, which goes to people who may be staying for an overnight admission to end of life. The level of care given on this ward is incredible.?

We also welcomed a new supporter Foxfields in Northampton which is a supported living accommodation after a few residents had been supported by our charity at Northampton General Hospital. The residents are currently fundraising to pay it forward to help others, which is so special.

While these gifts may seem simple, they are making a huge impact. People feel cared for, supported and know they are not alone.

We feel so proud of the difference we are making with the support of our community.

OUR YOUNG CHARITY FUNDRAISER

Do you remember our young supporter Woo who visited our coffee shop at The Elgar Centre to give it a review? Since her visit, she's taken her support a step further by doing her own fundraising to help fund our free gift packs for adult cancer patients in hospitals.

Through her social media page (managed and run by her parents) and with the support of her followers, Woo has raised ￡41.08, enough to fund 11 gift packs for cancer patients!

Thank you, Woo, for your amazing support and for making a big difference in the local community.

CYCLE FUNDRAISER FROM METRO BANK

A massive shoutout to our amazing supporters at Metro Bank (UK) Northampton for their ongoing efforts to raise awareness and funds for those diagnosed with cancer in hospitals.

This week, the Metro Bank Northampton team is cycling 200 miles—the equivalent of England to France—right in-store to support our work as part of the #franklins50 challenge with Franklins Solicitors LLP to raise funds for our charity.
