THE LEWIS FOUNDATION VOLUNTEERS RECEIVE AN AWARD

We are so proud that our amazing team of volunteers were the recipients of the Mayor of Northampton award for Outstanding Community Contribution.

This was awarded to reflect the outstanding work they have done to make a difference to the lives of others in the Northampton community.

The work we have done over the last 7 years would not be possible without these amazing people - giving up their time, love and energy to be a part of making a difference to the lives of others. Always working quietly behind the scenes, not wanting any publicity as they are doing it to simply make a difference.

Always on hand if we need them, even if it is at short notice.

Thank you:

Mick Bull, Eileen Bull, Curtis Archer, Dek Farrell, Janice Lewis, Nikki Fitzpatrick Paul Fitzpatrick, Caitlin Behan, Lynne Houghton, Pam Walker, Sally Johnson Maleen Sneddon Tianna Francis, Evie Bull, Denise Bull, Mandy Mae, Neve, Natalie Dyball, Keith Hall and Bryn Early for all you do and this was so deserved.

DONATION FROM KAB SEATING

Huge thank you to Kab Seating who have raised £4252.81 to support our work.

We were initially chosen as their Charity of The Year in 2020 and then Covid hit.

Whilst many organisations were not able to fundraise for us due to restrictions, the staff at KAB Seating found a way to keep going to show their support. They have done so many different fundraising activities such as Baking Competitions, Halloween Competitions and Fundraising in the warehouse. Their support extended for a 3 year period, resulting in the fantastic sum of money raised.

We would not be able to do the work we do without community support like this, so we want to say thank you for being a part of making a big difference to the lives of those diagnosed with cancer in our community.

If you are a business, school or group who want to become a part of our mission to make a difference, email: [email protected]

THE LEWIS FOUNDATION WINS AN AWARD FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTHAMPTON

Last week we attended University of Northampton 1st ever Sustainability Summit 2023 and received the Best Social Initiative Award for our Surplus Stock Appeal.

You will have seen us partnering with local businesses to donate any surplus stock they may have to our charity. This is usually end of line/excess stock, which they can no longer use.

Depending on the nature of the item, the stock is either put into our gift packs we give to adult cancer patients in hospital or is used to raise funds via our Pop Up Shop we host twice a month Grosvenor Shopping Northampton.

Our key partnership on this initiative has been Barry Tong Katy Tong - Sol Retail and Grosvenor Shopping Northampton - Bailey Earl and all the team at the centre, we could not make this work without you - so thank you for all you continue to do to support our charity to help cancer patients in hospital.

If you are a business who wants to find out how you can support us in this way, email: [email protected]

HOSPITAL FEEDBACK - END OF LIFE SUPPORT?

We received a beautiful piece of feedback in the post from Bedford Hospital and Luton and Dunstable University Hospital regarding our gift items to support end of life care.

"Thank you for your kind and heartfelt donations of items for our End of Life trolleys. This donation will support many families in one of the most heartbreaking experiences of their lives. And for that we would like to say thank you.

You have made an amazing contribution towards ensuring we reach as many patients and their loved ones as possible.

Our work would not be possible without our amazing supporters such as yourself. Donations make a wonderful difference to the hospitals, and your compassion is truly appreciated by our patients, their families and staff. Thank you once again for your generous support."

We are providing basic items such as toiletries, journals, pens, bedside lamps and neck cushions to be used by the patient and their loved ones. We were asked if we could help as items of this nature are not provided. With people going through the most difficult time of their life having access to these items is one less thing to think or worry about.

Thank you for fundraising and donating products to enable us to provide support in this way and to both hospitals for showing how your support makes a difference.
