The Lewis Foundation Charity is a non-profit organization that aims to bring comfort +support to adult cancer patients.
VISITING BEDFORD HOSPITAL THIS WEEK
This week we visited Bedford Hospital NHS Trust Primrose Unit, Macmillan.
Hearing from the hospital staff that a lot of people are attending the unit for treatment and appointments. On some days over 50 per DAY are making their way through their doors who have been diagnosed with cancer.
The demand for our variety of gift packs we provide and support continues to grow for those within the hospital setting attending appointments, treatment and hospital admissions. Packs such as overnight bags filled with toiletries and underwear (different sizes), chargers for Apple & Android phones, model craft kits, books and more. 29 bespoke gifts to select from so patients can have a pack specific to their needs.
We left the hospital with a good supply of our packs ready to be gifted to the cancer patients who attend, meaning packs are making their way to the recipients every day.

CLIMBING THE SCHILTHORN MOUNTAIN - SWITZERLAND
Huge thank you to Mick Finch, Pip Jones and Gary Jones who summited Schilthorn mountain - 2970m in Switzerland on Monday in support of our charity The Lewis Foundation.
For Mick it was his 21st climb, which is incredible!
They started at 5.30am and reached the summit at 3.45pm.
Mick even managed to squeeze in an interview on his way up the mountain with BBC Radio Northampton with Bernie Keith. If you had to BBC sounds you can hear it at 11.20am.
Huge thank you to Mick, Pip and Gary for all the continued love, kindness and support you have shown to The Lewis Foundation over the years.

LEXI B CUTTING HER HAIR
Huge thank you to Lexi B who recently cut her hair to raise funds for our charity The Lewis Foundation. She grew her hair for 18 months as she wanted to donate her hair to The Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for cancer patients. She chose to fundraise for The Lewis Foundation whilst doing this in memory of her Mama (grandmother) who received our gift packs.
She raised ￡1020 to help us fund our free gift packs and support for adult cancer patients in hospital.

SME BUSINESS AWARDS SUPPORTS THE LEWIS FOUNDATION
Huge thank you to SME Business Awards who chose us as their Charity Partner for the SME Awards Northamptonshire Awards in June Mercure Daventry Court Hotel.
￡3763.13 was raised on the night to help fund our work of providing free gift packs and support to adult cancer patients in hospital.
Huge thank you to Global Travel Moments for the donation of a 5* hotel for 2 in Vienna and also to Impulse Decisions support with the Silent Auction. Not only was funds raised but was it was also an incredible opportunity to raise awareness of our work among the business community in attendance.

OUR WATER DASH FUN RUN IS HAPPENING NEXT SATURDAY
Join us for The Lewis Foundation Water Dash!
Our event previously postponed due to the weather is now due to take place on Saturday 12th August 2023, Upton Country Park, Northampton at 1pm.
There is only a handful of tickets left. Still time to join us if you haven't booked a ticket already.
WHAT IS THE WATER DASH?
Our 5K Fun Run where participants complete a number of static and inflatable obstacles, whilst trying to avoid our Water Ninjas ready to spray you as you make your way around the course.

If you are a business (whatever size) would love for you to join us.
We have been asked by businesses how they can support The Lewis Foundation UK on a regular basis, that would make a direct impact to the lives of those diagnosed with cancer who receive our gifts and support.
This is why we are introducing our Business Club!?
What is the Business Club?
The Lewis Foundation Business Club Members are businesses who support us every month and become a part of The Lewis Foundation by giving back to their local community to help make a difference to the lives of those diagnosed with cancer.
By supporting us with a donation of ￡36 a month, it means each month you will provide packs for 10 people diagnosed with cancer in hospital and supports us being able to fund the gift packs that we provide. The average cost of a gift is ￡3.60. How amazing is that!
You’ll also receive:
*A business club certificate to showcase that you a business club supporter for The Lewis Foundation
* A tour of The Lewis Foundation - our premise, outlet store and coffee shop to enable you to meet team, see first hand what we do and how your support contributes to making a difference
