TLDR: I am hell-bent on changing the way that we work and live

Step one: I am launching a new, Let's Go There, podcast highlighting people doing amazing sh!t in this world and having the conversations that no one else is having.

"What are you up to now?" A question that if I have heard once, I have heard hundreds of times over the last 2.5 years. While I saw the care, curiosity, concern - depending on who was asking - it made my blood run cold and, honestly, led me to isolate. How does one answer that question when you don’t have “a job”? And does it even really matter? Welp. I usually laughed and said: Well, that is the question, isn’t it?

The reality is that the last 2.5 years have been work, real work. Aside from countless volunteer hours, side hustles, speaking engagements, networking, board work, moderating, interviews, racking up frequent flyer miles, and buying and building houses, I’ve been on a bigger assignment.

After leaving my last job, I set out to heal myself physically, emotionally and spiritually. This meant doing the hard work. I wanted to understand what had led to my greatest achievements and what patterns and behaviors undermined me, leading me to my biggest “failure”. I went on not 1 but 2 silent retreats, I began meditating in earnest, I prioritized my fitness, nutrition, health, I challenged myself up mountains (figuratively and literally), I battled with and acquiesced to my coach, I embraced the therapy that I had long rejected - both as an individual and in my marriage. I visited churches, temples, ashrams and I attempted every healing modality under the sun. I made amends with the past in order to free up my future. Hell, I even stared down a dark depression and did a hero’s dose of psilocybin. I was willing to do anything to sort myself out. In the words of a friend, I turned every stone over, in training for this moment.?

I have had this whisper of a calling since I was a very little girl, that over the years, has turned into a roar. I can no longer ignore nor deny it. In fact, I am moving through it, channeling it even. Unlike an out of body experience, this is very much an in-body experience. My mind is fighting this every step of the way but my body just keeps moving forward taking steps. And while I’m still trying to find the best way to articulate this, I can’t completely articulate it yet, let me just say that I feel very called to say: we don’t have to work and live like this any more. It is a false construct.?

Fear, anxiety and shame hold us back both in our work and in our lives. There is no use for them any longer. What would it look like to live our most authentic, human, real lives? What would it look like if love, excitement and inspiration were our guides? This is the sort of workplace and life that I dream of for ourselves and our children. After all, it is all just living. There is no such thing as work vs life, you are alive everywhere you go.?

So today marks the day that I take a huge leap into the great unknown. I am launching our podcast, Let’s Go There, highlighting people doing amazing sh!t in this world. Some of them will be names that you recognize and some may be new. All of them, however, are setting out to leave this planet (and in some cases beyond), better than they found it. They are all willing to open up to me about their journey in ways that you might not have heard before. Each one has something to teach us and yet all show us what it is like to be unapologetically themselves, raw, real, honest and connected.

Know that this will be an iterative and interactive journey. How this unfolds, I do not yet know; but what I do know is that I want you to be a part of it. Tell us the sort of stories you want to hear, who you want to hear from, what challenges you face personally and professionally. Help us shape this in the way that would bring the most value to you, as a person, in your work and life. My commitment is to listen, serve and hopefully inspire.?

This is the first step and only the beginning. And this is more than a podcast.?

That’s enough for now, with a lot more to come. Until then, I leave you with this: what could it mean for humanity if we all had the courage to be our full selves and lead with compassion and love?

Full body hug,?

I really admire your fearlessness in this and identify with what you’re saying in the article. The world changed, and it doesn’t have to be a bad thing. If corporate leaders could embrace and understand the plight and personal journeys of the teams that drive a companies success, the world would be better for it - and companies would go from good > great > AWESOME.
