Title: Growth in the Renewable Fuels Sector
India announced the launch of a Global Biofuel Alliance along with the United States and Brazil at a G20 summit in New Delhi to boost the use of cleaner fuels. the alliance seeks to hasten global efforts to reach net zero emissions targets. It also develops practical policies on knowledge-sharing and technical assistance.
As per latest U.S Energy Information Administration report, in January 2023, the United States total production capacity of biofuels—which includes renewable diesel, biodiesel, ethanol, and other biofuels—reached 23 billion gallons per year (gal/y), a 6% increase from January 2022.
This report also states that renewable diesel and other biofuels reached 3 billion gallons annually in January 2023, surpassing the nation's capacity to produce biodiesel for the first time.
Renewable diesel is a cleaner, higher quality fuel that runs more efficiently than biodiesel due to its identical performance characteristics & chemical equivalency to petroleum diesel.
This increase in U.S. renewable diesel capacity is being driven by rising targets for state and federal renewable fuel programs as well as the renewal of biomass-based diesel tax credits.
As the world battles climate change & looks for more sustainable energy sources Renewable Fuels can help mitigate some of these challenges.
As a leading High Value Engineering Partner of choice, InOpTra has a strong multidisciplinary team with experience in working on Renewable diesel, Biodiesel, Biomass projects in US & Europe. We look forward to working with our customers to building a more sustainable future.
