Titbits 39: A for...
How many of us complete this sentence with ‘Apple’? Yeah, there are some who would say ‘Ant’, but mostly it’s an apple. The brilliant part is, most of us have learnt it in nursery or in schools. Not like we chant it every day, but somehow it’s one of those things which have been ingrained in our minds. Simple, yet amazingly powerful building blocks. A gateway to the beautiful world of written language. Full of expressions and emotions. We would have missed all that if we wouldn’t have learnt ‘A for Apple’.
Similarly, there are so many simple building blocks that one can master from early age. Patience, Practice, Punctuality, Dedication, Integrity, Character… You can keep adding to the list. None of these attributes really require talent or skill. These powerful building blocks are to be ingrained in your mind early on, so that you can explore this wonderful world in a much more meaningful way. And you don’t have to chant these attributes every day either. It just becomes a way of life. Whenever you need them, they come out naturally - just like ‘A for Apple’.
