The initial press frenzy has passed and, now, the wait is for the National Transportation Safety Board's report to be released -- if it ever is. Thank you for your comments! Unfortunatly nowadays you will find a lot of 'experts'who distribute a lot of nonsense.

I think that there was a lot of rubbish stated. I suspect that as much as anything else attitude to the use of the materials was as much to blame as anything. There were many folk that expressed reservation on how the titan was designed and built. A little more humility would have been good. Having confidence in one’s ideas is often important, but also you need to accept that others that have expertise might also have something to contribute. Hubris and arrogance were the cause of the titanic disaster as much as the circumstances that led to the sinking. I dare say perhaps those same human flaws manifested themselves once again here. I think that this may set back the use of composites in deep sea vessels, even though composites might in many cases offer very good solutions. Perhaps it will just require folks to make very good cases in future, testing and a very rigorous approach will be needed. I do feel for the tragic loss of the crew and passengers, may they rest in peace.
