‘Tis the season for memories

Ho Ho How’s it going, Dear Reader? I imagine you’re ready to set your ‘out of office’, so I’ll keep this short and sweet. I don’t know about you, but I find it tough buying presents at Christmas.

After all, not everyone wants to find a Bandai USS Enterprise NCC-1701 Star Trek Model in their stocking, so what ON VULCAN do you get someone?

Well, if you’re thinking about buying a loved one a laptop this Christmas, here's something you should check before handing over any hard-earned cash.

What to watch out for when buying a laptop

Last week, I gave you a heads up about checking processors, but this week I want to talk about memory.

Now, if you’re thinking about buying refurbished tech, check it doesn’t have a mechanical Hard Disc Drive (HDD). It’s a slow, clunky thing that makes a low-pitched whirring noise.

Avoid at all costs.?

What you want is a modern, Solid-State Drive (SSD). It’s fast, slick and perfectly capable of handling the admin-grade tasks we all get up to on a day-to-day basis.

Depending on the amount of memory you need, your local IT experts (Hi! ??) can supply laptops with 256GB, 512GB or even 1TB SSDs. If you’re not sure what you need, give us a call and we’ll gladly help.

“Wow, you really did keep it short and sweet”

If you’re thinking about upgrading your hardware or software and want to avoid a cheap and tearful purchase this Christmas, feel free to call us today on 01903 25 99 23.

Until next time (click, click!) ??

??????

PS. Did you see this post about the Northstar Support Ship going green?

PPS. If you’re a client, we couldn’t think of a better Christmas present than to leave us a short review. If you have time, send a few words to me at [email protected].

Merry Christmas.
