Tis the Season for Giving Thanks

Tis the Season for Giving Thanks

I recently received an out of the blue thank you card for being invited to a gathering I threw recently. That little extra touch showed me how appreciative someone was for something I did, and only cost her the card, postage and time to write the card.

Between trying to close out the quarter or year with a bang and enjoying the holidays, we are often hurried and forget to say thank you to the customers, employees, investors and partners who helped you get to where you are today.

So before you put the turkey in the oven, make a list of who’s naughty (i.e. people you need to work on winning over) and nice then do 1 or more of my top 5 suggestions to show some appreciation for those you value, or who you should value more, this season:

1.      Manually Write Thank You or Holiday Cards

2.      Personally Stop By to Thank Them

3.      Send a (e)Book that Re-enforces the Relationship

4.      Hold an Appreciation Event

5.      Do Something Unexpected

Trust me, the card I received unexpectedly made me feel valued and encourages me to spend more time with that person – don’t you want to be valued and have people desire to spend more resources (time and/or money) with you?

Happy Holidays!
