'T?is the Season of Excuses

'Tis the Season of Excuses

Seems like it arrives earlier every year.

Thanksgiving.

Hannukah.

Christmas.

Kwanzaa.

New Years' Eve.

New Year's Day.

January 1 - the Super Bowl of insurance renewal dates.

These next 6 weeks are the "season of excuses".

When client hiring managers crawl into the fetal position.

Refuse to meet with new producer candidates.

Balk at moving candidates to offer stage.

I'm pushing a large rock uphill to change this dynamic.

But here are 3 food-for-thought morsels for hiring managers.

  1. January is another peak season: for sales people to make job changes. So, snooze through December at your own risk of losing great sales people to others. Maybe your competitors who will find time to meet them.
  2. You can find an hour on your calendar for something important. You know that you can.
  3. Meeting and hiring potential new sales people (producers) is an important thing to do. That is, if you're serious about growth in 2020.

An early Happy Thanksgiving to all!

(And please no "season of excuses" stiff arming!)
