Tired of Typing the Same Thing

We've all have some things we type over and over and over... you get the picture. Gmail uses a thing called canned responses, which is essentially an email template. You can even create filters that will auto respond with a canned response and much more. 

I'm talking little things like your address, your loan officer, your escrow officer's contact info, little things.

I use a tool called Snippets, it is actually part of Streak.com which is a CRM that is designed to work inside of Gmail. However, I don't use the crm portion, BUT I love the snippet feature. The CRM portion is a premium, but the free version gives you the snippets.

Here's how it works. You create snippets of information, you assign a short code to it. As you're typing an email and you need to add that snippet, you simply type the short code.

Example, I have to send wire instructions quite frequently. So I have the instructions saved as a snippet see below. To add that to an email, I simply type #wire and it is dropped in. The cool part is, you can add multiple snippets, a loan officer and their processor, escrow officer and their assistant, your home inspector, address to the title company. 

So to add the message below I type #wire

*** ATTENTION *** Escrow Officer Please be sure to eamil the wire confirmation and the signed HUD1 to [email protected] and the agent.
