Tired of Scammers

Scammers have turned the digital landscape into their playground. From internet mafia to black hats and state-sponsored actors, online crime has evolved into a billion-dollar industry. Organized cybercriminals are responsible for 80% of cybercrime globally, and ransomware is a $20 billion industry, projected to hit $265 billion by 2031. Black hat hackers contribute significantly, with independent actors involved in 41% of breaches. State-sponsored actors, such as North Korea, Russia, and China, also play major roles—North Korea alone stole $1.7 billion in cryptocurrency in 2022. What's enabling this surge? The anonymity of online accounts.
Platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn face huge challenges with fake accounts. Facebook disabled 426 million fake accounts in Q1 2023, with estimates suggesting 5% of users are fake, totaling over 150 million. LinkedIn removed 22 million fake accounts in the first half of 2022, with 2-3% of profiles estimated to be fake. These numbers show just how deeply anonymity fuels this problem.
What if we changed that? What if online accounts had to be verified as genuinely human? Imagine an internet where every profile you engage with was a real person—not a scammer or a bot.
The Human Name System (HNS) is our solution to reclaim the internet—creating a safer, authentic online world where we can trust every interaction is genuinely human. Let's stand against criminals exploiting technology and put humanity back in control.
HNS is open source, and we need developers, cybersecurity experts, and visionaries. If you're passionate about building a safer internet—one that prioritizes verified, human-first interactions—we need you. Check out our GitHub Repo. More info at [https://imhmn.org](https://imhmn.org)
