Tired of remaking glasses?

It’s all well and good having a sky-high conversion and a great ATV, but it’s not much use if it turns into a remake and all the work you did initially is now not worth as much. As much as your recommendations are important, so is the final prescription you come to.

Remakes can have a detrimental effect on the practice, not just in terms of the cost, but also the perception the customer now has of you. Their confidence can plummet in the Optometrist, the product they bought, the OA who took the measurements and the practice. It’s like buying a pair of shoes that you can’t walk in, you would return the product and lose faith in the company.

I’m not saying we won’t make mistakes, we’re human after all. However, there are things we can keep in mind during the eye exam to reduce the chances of a remake.

Rob Green haven’t you heard profit is a rude word in the optical industry if you listen to most people. Problem is without a profit there won’t be an optical industry of independents because a they will be owned like Dentists , Veterinarians by a handful of large companies. This is the future of any industry that thinks it should compete on price with large corporations. Specialists are always going to earn more and service their patients better but the majority won’t afford them. Business owners have to decide what they want and select few high end clients or compete on price to survive! Sad reality is
